Richard W Yee, MD, specializes in refractive surgery, medical and surgical management of corneal disorders and cataract surgery. His expertise includes all types of corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and vision correction using lasers, and intra-ocular lenses with a special interest in LASEK surgery for vision correction. He is involved in numerous clinical research studies, which include extensive research in corneal dystrophies and dry eye syndrome, for which he has developed new treatment protocols.

Dr. Yee serves as a Faculty Advisor and an interviewer on the Medical School's Admissions Committee. He has also served on missions to third world countries.

He has been the Director of International Society Refractive Surgery and is Director of the International LASEK Congress. Dr. Yee has been invited to speak at international conferences world-wide and throughout the United States. He has held editorial positions with many of the major Ophthalmology journals and has served on National Grant Review panels, study sections, and committees. Dr. Yee has published several books and authored, co-authored or presented over 300 clinical papers throughout his career.
