Judianne Kellaway, MD, focuses her clinical practice on medical and surgical treatment of the retina and vitreous and general ophthalmology. Her primary surgical interests include retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy and cataracts.
In addition to her clinical practice, she is Director of the Residency Program and is Assistant Dean of Admissions of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She serves on several hospital committees at the Medical School and Memorial Hermann Hospital.
In addition to instructing medical students and ophthalmology residents, Dr. Kellaway has initiated ophthalmology programs in the Medical School's Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Emergency Medicine to help educate the medical students and residents in those departments.
Dr. Kellaway was instrumental in the conceptual design for the eye exhibit at Houston's Museum of Health and Medical Science, where she also serves as an advisor for the Eye Exhibit. She lectures to high school, college, and adult groups about eye safety, common eye disorders, and the prevention of eye diseases.
